Certification
AHRI Certified Reference Number
A unique identifier used by AHRI for a certified HVAC equipment combination or product record.
What is AHRI Certified Reference Number?
An AHRI Certified Reference Number identifies a certified product or matched-system record in the AHRI Directory of Certified Product Performance. For split air conditioners and heat pumps, the reference number can identify the specific indoor and outdoor combination whose performance ratings were certified.
The reference number is useful because model names alone can be ambiguous, and one outdoor unit may be paired with multiple indoor components that produce different certified ratings.
AHRI's public directory can be searched by reference number or model information. A certificate of product ratings may also be available for a certified combination.
Why it matters
For HVACBird, an AHRI reference number can act as a strong provenance key for matched-system efficiency and capacity data. It should not be invented or inferred from manufacturer marketing material.
